Bournemouth — Jan 20th 2009

Our Musical evening started the new year on the right note! Steve Ryder gave a repeat of his demonstration of transferring vinyl to disc - really easy with a USB turntable and a copy of Audacity (free).
This was followed by a very comprehensive and well presented trip around Garageband, from Sam Adams.
Steve had come from Dorchester and Sam from Fareham to share their expertise, and it was much appreciated by all.

There were very few problems that needed solving this month - maybe next month will supply more for our brains to get round! And at the February meeting Mick Burrell will be showing us how to set up our email when we are away from home.

Also Michael has offered a prize for the best design for a flier advertising the Bournemouth meetings to go on show locally. Not limited to people who actually come to that meeting!

Another very enjoyable and informative Bournemouth meeting. This venue has such good demonstration facilities, it ought to be packed out every month. It would be interesting to know if there is a particular reason why it's not.

Sam, hope you didn't get clobbered by the Bournemouth parking Gestapo!

On that subject, are potential attendees aware, that as long as you stay for the whole meeting, there free parking available in the multi-story park nearby? Don't know how Michael has managed this, but that barrier is always up for us after 8.30pm.

Glad that the meeting was enjoyable - I too scratch my head to know why more people don't make it to our meeting in Bournemouth!

Following a committee meting last evening, we have agreed that the flier competition ber opened to the whole group, and be so designed that individual meeting details can be inserted to suit the individual areas for local distribution. The prize now fgoes up to TWO packets of biscuits! Seriously, the prize will be a better one, so get designing!
