There were 13 members at this meeting and John gave us a presentation covering 3 topics.
He began with On-line Banking, this basically allows you to access your account details and statements from your own bank or building society, and to carry out transactions like transferring money or paying bills etc. The main advantages are… 24/7 accessibility, portability away from home, easy to use and it’s free!

Another good meeting, with 18 people present, including one new person, not yet a member (but we are working on it!) Mick gave a first class presentation on the A-to-Z of the iPad and iPhone. There was something there for everyone, from the most experienced to the absolute beginner, and many functions of these were explained and eyes opened as to what can be done with them and how to change functions to…

After a short Q&A
John Hooper gave us a very interesting presentation about the Vision Impairment Features found on the iPad and the Mac (most of them should also work on the iPhone).
John started by demonstrating how to use Fullscreen Zoom then Window Zoom, the latter being fully adjustable using a 'floating' controller icon.

May's meeting's main event was an introduction to some of iTunes' features from Michael Corgan featuring some beautifully orchestrated slides. Michael started with the rhetorical question of "What does it do?", to which the answer was "A lot!".
Michael continued by describing the many ways to control iTunes, including on-screen buttons, function keys and keyboard shortcuts. He then moved on to adding material to iTunes' library (notably by…

We've now settled back permanently into our previous meeting room, Classroom E2, and there were 8 members attending this time.

We saw a range of apps -among them a map app that shows footpaths, a public transport app that gives details of transport options (down to the bus-stop and any walking time) for…

April in Bournemouth saw 9 members gathered, including one new member (welcome Barrie). We were treated to a fascinating journey through the history of type, design and printing from Euan Williams with many an intriguing digression along the way.
Euan opened with a great quote from Adrian Frutiger (he of the typeface) who said that "Type is the clothing a word wears, so it must be subordinate to the content ... The whole…

The various new features of Apple’s recently upgraded iWorks apps, Pages, Numbers and Keynote were introduced by Euan. They include gobal font replacement through a document, bookmarks and notes, along with Collaboration and Keynote Live. These were shown by switching the projector between two computers, where we see his Airdrop to watch his presentation running from a second computer on the screen. KeyNote Live does not require the recipient to have the Keynote…
